WORLDLY WISE, TOO YOUNG, (Media Exposure)

The title is from an article from a local newspaper “Today”. Well it was an interesting article, but lack of religion aspect.
One of the questions she raises is:”Is this what money has bought us - children old before their time?”
The reason she says this is because,

Personally I think it is not the work of money but the work of devil. You may think that I am too extreme on this topic. It is about media exposure. There is a saying that there is too much violence and unhealthy theme being shown on TV, if they have only watch Singapore TV programs and they say that, they are really a bit mountain tortoise.

I once subscribe to RealPlayer’s networks. I watched about 5 movies, not one of them is without sex or violence, even the comedy. Their reality show happen to be showing prostitution in the US, and it was a series done by BBC. It was really unbelievable to see how open minded these girls are.

There is this mother who become prostitute to raise the family, well she says she have not much choice, so I can understand. But when the daughter turns 18, she married her boyfriend and after some discussion with her new husband and her mother, she also becomes a prostitute in the same “house” as her mother. Her mother and her husband did not disagree to her decision. Can you believe it?

The story does not end here. It’s a series… so, true enough just as I thought, the daughter divorce after 3 months into the marriage, and she continue to be a prostitute, and being a pro in US you really earn big money. Within 6 weeks she can buy a brand new car, fully pay off. I don’t think Singapore pro earn as much. Just as I thought all these should end here. There is another twist to the story. As the mother and daughter team in the “house”, it is very unique so the “house” manager invites reporters to interview them. As part of the interview, one reporter gets to have sex with both of them. Well up to here it looks quite normal, But after the interview, the reporter and the daughter start to have feeling for each other and get married after about 6 months. OMG. Can you imagine that the son in law actually slept with the mother in law. This is too outrages, but its true. If this is not the work of the devil, human being is really going farer and farer from God.

A Chat with GOD.

I have kept this passage ever since I received it from a friend. It always give new meaning to life everytime I read it.

Really please take time to read to change your mindset...

God : Hello. Did you call me?

Me: Called you? No.. who is this?

God : This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.

Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.


God : What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.

Me: Don't know. But I cant find free time. Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

God : Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.

Me: I understand. But I still can't figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.

God : Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.

Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?

God : Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.

Me: why are we then constantly unhappy?

God : Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday.You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not happy.

Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?

God : Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.

Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty..

God : Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.

Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

God : Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that experience their life become better not
bitter.

Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?

God : Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why cant we be free from problems?

God : Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.

Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading..

God : If you look outside you will not know where you are heading.Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?

God : Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.

Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

God : Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Me: What surprises you about people?

God : when they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me" Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth

Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I cant get the answer.

God : Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of
creation.

Me: How can I get the best out of life?


God : Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

God : There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.

Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat.

God : Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that took our breath away! "

Baptism. A new begining of life. AGAIN.

After a year of RCIA, I was finally baptism on 26th March 2005 at Christ the King Church. The week before the baptism, my wife and me celebrated the whole week of morning Mass. We really prepared ourselves for the coming of that day.

We went to church earlier to pary the rossary with other elects, and follow by more paryers. We were luckly that we were considered as a family, so we sat at the side which had more space, which also mean we were to be baptised by the Father Yim. Well if you had seem how he baptise people, you will know what I mean.

Baptism susposed to signify dying of old self and a new life begin. Well when the water flowing down my face, I really felt that I was dying, drown from the water which stop all the air from reaching my nose.

And now I will touch on the topic which was rasied during, before adn after RCIA.

The journy truely begin.

Christ The King RCIA

So, after Alpha course, what's next??? Then my wife's friend, now my wife's godma, said that the church was running a RCIA course(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults). I only know that it was a course to know more about the catholic faith, which I was not very keen, but since I did not know much about the catholic, so I just went along with my wife. The first lesson, we had praise and worship. Well coming from a protestant, the praise and worship was really sub standard. I was thinking, what a lousey P&W team they have. Then lesson was basic but still interesting enough to catch my attention. So we just go for the lesson on Fri, and the Mass on Sat. I really find the mass boring compare to the service that we held in the church I went before. But at communion, I would still go through it with respect. As time passes, I also dont know starting from when that I really respect the Mass. It is really a activity with lots of meaning to it. Although it seem boring, the meaning behind every boring move or speech, there is great meaning. Then I really believe Catholic faith is the 1 true faith.
